High Temps and Low Tides

Here’s the details:

..HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 5 AM PDT TUESDAY…

Issued by NWS Seattle WA

* WHAT…Hot conditions with high temperatures up to 85 to 90 degrees and low temperatures down to 60 to 65 degrees expected.
This will pose a moderate risk of heat-related illness.

* WHERE…City of Seattle.

* WHEN…From 11 AM this morning to 5 AM PDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Heat will significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses for those who are sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling or adequate hydration.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The warmest daytime high temperatures are expected Monday afternoon and the warmest overnight lows are expected Monday night into Tuesday morning.

* PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Today’s low tide of -3.9 takes place around 10:44 am.
Monday we have a low tide of -4.32 around 11:30 am.
Tuesday has another very low tide of -4.25

Heat Advisory through Saturday Night

UPDATE July 31, 2015: The heat advisory has been extended through 8:00 pm Sunday, August 2, 2015! 

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory through 9:00 pm Saturday night.

They recommend:

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS…IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE…RESCHEDULE
STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR EVENING IF POSSIBLE.

KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE.

WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN POSSIBLE AND DRINK
PLENTY OF WATER.

THE INTERIOR OF AUTOMOBILES CAN BECOME VERY HOT
CREATING A DANGER IF CHILDREN OR PETS ARE LEFT UNATTENDED.

TONIGHT…CLEAR. LOWS IN THE UPPER 50S TO MID 60S. NORTH WIND 10 TO 15 MPH BECOMING NORTHEAST AFTER MIDNIGHT.

FRIDAY…SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE MID 80S TO LOWER 90S. LIGHT WIND BECOMING NORTH AROUND 10 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.
