Mark you calendars and clear your plates for The Taste of West Seattle.   This event, which benefits the West Seattle Helpline, takes place on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. at The Hall at Faunterloy.

Garage Sale

On Jacobsen and 54th…I noticed the sign while walking my dog this morning.

If you’re planning a Garage or Yard Sale in the neighborhood, drop me an email.  I’m happy to post it.

Farmers Market and Water Taxi

The Elliot Bay Water Taxi service begins this Sunday and so does the West Seattle Farmers Market.

The Water Taxi begins at 2:00 and is FREE all day on Sunday.

WS Blog now offering subscriptions

The West Seattle Blog constantly provides the latest of what’s going on throughout the West Seattle region.   They are the mysterious super sleuths always getting the scoop.

Today they featured this post on a potential scam targeting West Seattle residents.

They recently offered subscription service, just send them an email and you will be updated whenever something new is posted.   This is similar to how Beach Drive Blog’s subscription service works (except, you need to enter your email address in the upper right corner of this site).

Don’t miss a beat–subscribe to both sites!

Do You Know a Landscaper?

Mpph03441i00001We are in need of a landscaper for our home in the North Admiral District.   I’m calling around for bids right now… and I thought I should put a "shout out" to the neighbors.

We just need the yard to be "groomed" and a low maintainence garden to be planted in front (this is not a huge space).     We would love your recommendations!   Send me an email or, better yet, share your testimonials with all BDB readers by adding a comment to this post.

Cell phone towers are all the buzz

CellI think that I shall never see

A Cell Phone tower lovely as a tree.

Perhaps, unless my wireless won’t ring

… okay BDB readers…here’s your chance to create the last line of this poem.   Submit your suggestion by clicking the comment link.  🙂

This was my inspiration for the silly poem above.

I think that I shall never see
A billboard lovely as a tree.
Perhaps, unless the billboards fall,
I’ll never see a tree at all.

–   Ogden Nash, Song of the Open Road, 1933
