It’s no Illusion, that’s smoke!

A mishap with some hair product in a garbage can has just caused an evacuation at Illusions Hair Design.   So much for my day of beauty!

I’m lucky I had just sat down for my hair appointment and didn’t have my head in a towel so I was able to walk away and reschedule…others are in the middle of their service and are kind of stuck waiting for the air to clear.

Strange Sighting at Mee Kwa Mooks

While I was just out in search of more decked out Beach Drive homes to feature on BDB, we noticed a group of people  on the beach moments ago (during an exteme low tide).    Not sure what was going on but it sure looked interesting with the flashlights bobbing around.

Any clues?

Street closed at Alaska/Fauntleroy and Gee/Huling Motors

Not Beach Drive, I know, but my husband just called me to me to say the road is blocked Img121 off with police and flares everywhere in front of "Gee/Huling" at Alaska and Fauntleroy. I’ll contact WSB to see if they know what’s going on.

Photo compliments of my husband and stepdaughter.

Alki and Beach Drive Project$

This email is from ACC.  There are projects impacting Alki and Beach Drive.  You may want to check it out.
This was mentioned at the ACC meeting last night.  We are in the running for $ for a project to continue the sidewalk on the water side of Alki Ave from the west end of the promenade to Alki Point.  The DPD has made this a bit complicated, but here the link to rank ALL of the projects in the order you’d like to see the money distributed:
Our project is way down the list:
2007-495 Alki Ave SW from 65th Ave SW to Beach Drive SW  $ 620000 – 760000
Here’s the main page for voting with background info:

The 3 Day Marathon is here

I just had thought…we should probably wait to roll out our garbarge until after the marathon has passed our section of Beach Drive.

Let’s give these guys and gals some extra space (and cheer ’em on).

I’ve done a half marathon before and it was grueling for me.   I have complete respect for what the 3-Day-ers are accomplishing not only for their charity and cause but also for the pure physical aspect.

I’m off to the side walk to cheer!  It’s kind of early…but I think I can manage.
