Rally to stop Cell Phone Towers near Alki Elementary tomorrow night

Parents of students a Alki Elementary will join 50 neighbors and community supporters in attending the “Stop Alki Cell Towers” Information Rally and Demonstration on Alki Beach, Thursday, May 7 at 7 p.m. Rally will end with kids throwing 12 cardboard cell tower replicas into a fire pit, as a way of saying they don’t want 12 new cell antenna transmitters to be built so close to their school.

The ginormous West Seattle Community Garage Sale is coming up this Saturday. The weather for Saturday should be beautiful – which never hurts a successful garage sale. Check out the map for registered garage sales!

Two West Seattle homes destroyed by fire yesterday

Two West Seattle families completely lost their homes yesterday from a devastating fire. Another home was damaged by the same 2-alarm fire as well.

…actually, in the ten years we’ve lived on Beach Drive…this has to the first time I’ve seen this!
It appears to be a photo shoot. I can barely make out the name on the back of the boat “Endurance” with a couple letters following. Any more info on this? I love it when Delta Marine test drives their mega-yachts in our back yard… Endurance looks like it could a model from Hampton Yachts?

…barking Sea Lion! This morning around 5:30 am, our household was jolted awake by the song of very loud sea lion. As I write this post, he (or she) is currently barking it up in front of Emma Schmitz View Point – enjoy!

UPDATE: Franci has been FOUND! She is reunited with her human. 🙂
Francis (aka Franci) is missing from 4200 Chilberg Avenue SW. Last seen at 8:45 AM this morning, April 8, 2015.
Friendly older dog, beagle lab mix. 50 lbs. tan and white. She is micro-chipped and wearing a turquoise patterned collar.
