All about the West Seattle neighborhood around Beach Drive
…actually, in the ten years we’ve lived on Beach Drive…this has to the first time I’ve seen this!
It appears to be a photo shoot. I can barely make out the name on the back of the boat “Endurance” with a couple letters following. Any more info on this? I love it when Delta Marine test drives their mega-yachts in our back yard… Endurance looks like it could a model from Hampton Yachts?
Awoken by a barking sea lion…low flying helicopter over a motorboat… just a typical week! 😉
…barking Sea Lion! This morning around 5:30 am, our household was jolted awake by the song of very loud sea lion. As I write this post, he (or she) is currently barking it up in front of Emma Schmitz View Point – enjoy!
UPDATE: Franci has been FOUND! She is reunited with her human. 🙂
Francis (aka Franci) is missing from 4200 Chilberg Avenue SW. Last seen at 8:45 AM this morning, April 8, 2015.
Friendly older dog, beagle lab mix. 50 lbs. tan and white. She is micro-chipped and wearing a turquoise patterned collar.

Update: Bacchaus has been found and reunited with his humans.
Have you seen this missing Siamese cat. He last seen on 59th ave SW/Andover/Charlestown. Contact 949.861.0919 if found. Cat’s name is Bacchaus.
I am guessing this sail boat race is the Corinthian Yacht Club South Sound Series, just passing Lincoln Park and heading to Three Tree Point. If you know differently, please chime in!

A Beach Drive neighbor found this buoy while beach combing this morning. If you’re missing your buoy, she’s happy to return it to you.
This just in from a neighbor:
“This morning at 4:45 am on the 3800 block of Beach Drive SW, our car windows (rear and side) were smashed and a very important work suitcase was stolen. The alarm went off & we saw a white car take off driving.”
1:52 PM Update – I just read this on West Seattle Blog:
CARDS STOLEN FROM CAR IN 5600 BLOCK BEACH DRIVE: And used fraudulently, quickly, after the theft in mid-February, over the span of four hours, at a supermarket and three gas stations. The victim hadn’t even had the time to cancel the cards yet.
SPORTS EQUIPMENT STOLEN FROM CAR: At Beach Drive and Canada, a bag containing baseball equipment was taken
About a half hour ago (4:06 pm), we had a high tide of 10.32 which combined with the wind gusts up to around 38 mph from the south/southwest, has caused some Beach Drive shores to be hammered by some waves and spray.
I took these photos from the comforts of INSIDE my home…so I apologize for the window reflection.
This is about a 2 – 3 story tall splash of salt water spraying our neighbors home.
Although this is breathtaking to watch, I’m glad that the tides are heading lower!
