Sick Bird Feeders

Thanks to West Seattle blog for posting this on their blog about a deadly outbreak  impacting local birds from tainted feeders.

Seattle Dog Parks

A few months ago, a BDB reader inquired about local Dog Parks…I was just reading a few blogs over at Citizen Rain and came across this article from Green Spaces Real Estate:

"Westcrest Dog Park in West Seattle (located north of SW Roxbury on 8th Avenue SW). Westcrest is of particular interest…because it has only the 2nd "small and shy dog area" designated for small – and/or shy – dogs…."

I know…it’s not Lincoln Park.   I’m not sure if Westcrest was mentioned before…just thought I would share it with you.

Maybe I’ll become a “Beach Drive Bird Blog Lady”

I thought I was pretty lucky yesterday when I spied four heron together.  Unfortunately, I could only capture 3 in my camera lens…you’ll have to trust me the solo fellow was standing by the other 3 birds.

You can imagine my surprise when today, I discovered a two-headed bald eagle off of Emma Schmitz Viewpoint.

Okay…I don’t want anyone squawking at me.   It is not a two headed eagle but it was quite a site.   This pair of baldies managed to draw a few onlookers (besides me) from the park.

Visit historic Luna Park this weekend

The Log House Museum will have a tent and table at Luna Park this Sunday from 11:30 to 3:30 with pix, etc of the old amusement park that was there back in 1907-13.   Drop on by!

Looking for something special to do?

Img_5095 This Sunday marks the first opening since Mother’s Day of the Walker Rock Garden.   It is truly worth a visit and will be open every Sunday until Labor Day from 12:00 -5:00.   There is a donation box for this exquisit backyard located off of 37th and Brandon.

Moon over Vashon

Did you catch the moon setting last night?  I think I’ll be getting a tri-pod for Christmas…even though this photo was taken by my husband…maybe he’ll get one for Father’s Day!
