Wind and Waves to Wrap Up 2020…last Barking Dog Report of the year!

Happy New Year, Neighbors!

It looks like around midnight we could see winds picking up and staying strong through Friday with gusts in the low 40s on Saturday, according to the current predictions from Wind Alert.  The current forecast from the UW (below) has gusts up to 50mph! With waves predicted up to 5 feet on Friday and up to 7 feet on Saturday… we’re keeping a close on weather and are preparing for potential flooding, although our home typically is hit when the wind comes more from the southwest.

Friday has a high tide of 12.43 at 7:21 am and a 10.21 feet at 5:16 pm.
Saturday’s high tides are 12.50 feet at 7:55 am and 9.87 feet at 6:05 pm.

FRI NIGHT  S wind 20 to 30 kt easing to 15 to 25 kt after  midnight. Wind waves 3 to 5 ft. Rain.  

SAT  S wind 15 to 25 kt rising to 20 to 30 kt in the afternoon.  Wind waves 3 to 5 ft.  

SAT NIGHT  S wind 30 to 40 kt becoming SW 15 to 25 kt after  midnight. Wind waves 5 to 7 ft subsiding to 2 to 4 ft after  midnight.

NEW YEARS DAY…Cloudy with a chance of rain until late afternoon, then rain at times late in the afternoon. Rainfall amounts a tenth to a quarter of an inch possible. Highs in the lower to mid 50s. Southeast wind to 10 mph becoming south in the afternoon.

FRIDAY NIGHT…Breezy. Rain at times. Rainfall amounts a quarter to a half inch possible. Lows in the 40s. South wind 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

SATURDAY…Breezy, rain. Rainfall amounts a quarter to a half inch possible. Highs near 50. South wind 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT…Windy, rain. Rainfall amounts one to three inches possible. Lows in the lower to mid 40s. South wind 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph decreasing to 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph after midnight.
