Beach Drive Break In’s Last Night?

I'm hearing from a friend that on Friday night there were:

"two buildings on Beach Drive that I know of that were broken into last night with the use of force and prying on lobby door knobs"

Does anyone have more information on this?   At the very least it's a good reason to be extra alert.  If you have more information, please let us know.

Part of Beach Drive Closed due to Landslide

While checking my emails this morning, I caught a message from my sister asking if we're okay…she heard there's a landslide on Beach Drive via the news.  Of course the first thing I did (since we're fine) was to check West Seattle Blog and they do report that the 6000 block of Beach Drive is closed due to a response from a landslide.

If you have any photos, please be sure to forward them.

Update:  Here is Fox Q13's report.   From their photo, the slide looks pretty small–let's hope it stays that way.

Wanted: YOU

Beach Drive Blog is looking for needs neighborhood writers and photographers.   I've been passionately plugging away at the blog for almost three years (we actually have a "blogoversary coming up soon) but with all the changes in my "full time job", I've been running out of day to give BDB the time and attention it so deserves.

This is where Beach Drive Blog could use your help.  If you live in the Beach Drive Neighborhood of West Seattle and would like to be a contributor, please let me know.   It would be great to have "reporters" covering the entire stretch of Beach Drive with articles you've written or your photographs.

If you're interested or have any questions, please let me know and I'll fill you in on the details.   The more contributors we have at BDB, the more vibrant and rich this blog will be for our community.

Hit and Run at Jacobsen and Beach Drive

A motorcyclist was struck by a van this afternoon.  The van fled up Jacobsen and some witnesses followed them.  I understand the police may have one person in custody.   The motorcyclist has been transferred via ambulance to a hospital and it looks like he should be okay.

For more information, check out West Seattle Blog–I believe they will be posting more infomation soon (if they haven't all ready).

Do we need a stop light at that intersection?

Update:  here's a little information posted on Seattle PI's blog: Seattle 911

Police said a section of Beach Drive was contained after the man, who is bald man, and was wearing black pants and a black hoodie, was seen running through a yard. He was reportedly hiding between two houses and was taken into custody at 2:07 p.m

A gentleman I talked to at the scene who had followed the van when it took off up Jacobsen thought he saw two men flee the van.
