PS: We’re still having our quasi photo contest where your Beach Drive photos will be shared as our Facebook header…I admit, we’ve been a little slow in posting new headers. I’ve popped up a Halloween photo from last year and will unveil a new photo from one of our readers after Halloween. Please keep your photos coming!

Escaping the Fog

20131023_174905

I ventured to West Seattle Thriftway around 5:30 tonight to pick up some Uli’s Sausages to grill while watching the World Series… and what did I spy? THE SUN AND BLUE SKY!!

We’ve been so socked in thick fog this past week, I thought I’d share my view driving home just past True Value Hardware… back to the fog.

Could be a wild ride!

I was a bit surprised to see a few boats still on their moorage buoys this afternoon. Past Septembers have been pretty mild as far as wind & waves but this one’s a different story. Tonight’s forecast of an all out storm fits weather patterns in November thru February rather than a summer month.

Tis the season for wind, waves and rain

I was caught on the West Seattle Bridge late this afternoon in an amazing display of Mother Nature’s force. It was more rain, wind and water than I have ever witnessed on the bridge. I’m very glad to be home!

First “Winner” in the BDB Photo Contest

This is our first entry to our photo contest which we announced earlier this month.  The modest photographer, Alexa, says, “Lol, not the best since from my phone but I love it.”

  2. Photos can submitted via email to rhonda@mortgageporter.com
  3. Contest winners are selected by the BDB committee
  4. Winning photo will be displayed on Beach Drive Blog’s Facebook page (be sure to “Like”us!)

Congrats, Alexa and thank you for your entry!

NWS issues Special Weather Statement for Sunday

Last Sunday we had “Blue Thunder” for the Seahawks game…and it looks like this Sunday will bring howling weather as the National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for the first official day of fall.  It’s probably a good idea to make sure what leaves are currently around drains are cleared (although we’re going to have plenty more coming down).
