On my way to capture the photo of the mystery sign, I noticed that someone has been up to stacking rocks at Emma Schmitz again.

Giant Slugs Invade Beach Drive
These photos were recently submitted of ginormous slugs invading homes on Beach Drive leaving a devastating trail behind them.
We have no idea if this phenomenom is caused by El Nino, all the windy weather or the pending snow. You may want to get your giant salt shakers ready just in case.
Keep safe!
Halloween Happenings on Beach Drive
There's a slight chill in the air signally that Halloween will soon be here. We've noticed some very spooky occurrences and some neighborhood homes including mummies hanging from play-sets and an abundance of orange spiderwebs. Do you have a scary looking home this Halloween? Please send us your photos to so we can share them here (plus then you won't have to wonder who the creepy blogger is taking photos of your home). You can send an email (address in the upper right corner) or share on our Facebook Group page or the Community Forums.
You can also join in on Beach Drive Blog's virtual pumpkin carving and Halloween costume contest for Beach Drive and neighbors. Submit your photos for the contest by Saturday, October 30, 2010 to make sure they're in time to be viewed by our ghoulish judges with winners announced on Halloween.
Only a Few More Weekends to Tour the Alki Light House
The Alki Light House is open for tours every weekend from 1:00 – 4:00 pm until Labor Day.
It's an amazing bit of Seattle history and a beautiful place to visit. Established in 1887, the current tower was first lit in 1913, the lighthouse will be celebrating her 100th birthday in a couple years!
PS: the tours are FREE!
Come check it out before Labor Day! Here are more of my photos of the Alki Point Lighthouse.
West Seattle Blog has a nice article with more details about the Alki Point Lighthouse.

The Alki Sea Cow?
I first caught this storie via a tweet from West Seattle Blog…the photo was udderly hysterical. I then ventured to their blog and it appears nobody is coming forward with their story about the Sea Cow.
It was enough for my hubby and me to venture out to Alki Point to see if for ourselves.
Thrones of Beach Drive
I'm not sure if this will become a regular series of posts here at Beach Drive Blog, butt we had to share this facinating toilet located in a home along Beach Drive.
Out of T.P.? No problems…the Toto Washlet 300 will cleanse and pamper with many features to choose from…and the heated seat is a warm welcome on a chilly Seattle day.
