Happening now in Puget Sound: Tribes canoeing to Puyallup

You may have heard the chants of local tribes canoeing on their journey to Puyallup this morning. These multitades of canoes from various NW tribes is all part of "Paddle to Squaxin 2012". Here is a video report from Scupper Sr. interviewing members of the Quinault Tribe:

Crime: UPS Package and Car Ransacked and Seattle Night Out

We received this message via Facebook yesterday:

WARNING!!!! We live on Jacobsen Road and came home to my package delivered from UPS open and item stolen. Be aware of mail thieves and package thieves.

And learned from another neighbor by Jacobsen/Beach Drive that their car was ransacked….nothing was stolen because nothing was left to steal.  However the creeps left the glove box open and it was apparent someone had gone through the car looking for valuables.

Seattle Night Out is less than a month away on August 7th – let's have a HUGE turn out. If you're planning a SNO around Beach Drive, please comment and let us know or send me a private email.

Now if I was only fast enough with my camera to have caught the bald eagle being chased by crows…

Buy some Bings TOMORROW at Emma Schmitz View Point [Corrected]

Tomorrow, June 28, 2012 from 11:00 – 1:00 pm at at Emma Schmitz Memorial View Point, you can buy Bing Cherries and help raise funds for Jessica Oldwyn who is fighting a brain tumor.  More info here.

Look for a maroon Dodge truck with a trailor.

I can't think of a more delicious fundraiser, can you?

HAT TIP: Tracy from WSB.  I initally posted the wrong date…blaming our new puppy for (happily) wearing me out

Sea Lion or Seal?

At first glance, we didn’t realize this was a sea lion (or seal?) floating by.

Hoping this fella is feeling well and just enjoying the last evening of Spring. We caught these photos just in front of Emma Schmitz Memorial View Point.

FOUND: Two Pugs [REUNITED]

UPDATE: Great news!! The pugs owner has been located! This happy event calls for a little song.

Thanks to all of the neighbors who helped reunite the pugs with their humans!

A black and fawn Pug have just been found wandering along Beach Drive just north of Jacobson.  A neighbor is caring for them hoping their owners are able to pick them up soon.

If you are missing your pups (they appear to be 2 years or younger) please let us know!
