Here’s a home along Beach Drive that is receiving a dramatic lift. Imagine the views from this tree house once it’s complete!
The Seattle Times reports there are new earthquake maps available detailing updated fault lines for our region and how vulnerable various neighborhoods are. To see the entire map, click here. (The lighter the color, the less shaking you should have according to the map).
It was just last week when Benjamin Kinlow , Crime Prevention Coordinator, was at our preliminary Block Watch Meeting…one of his suggestions was for us to purchase and install "No Solicitation" signs.
2004 Mazzaron is a Tempranillo from Spain.
We have really enjoyed this smokey red wine–it’s ready to drink now.
Robert Parker has rated it at 88 points. Stephen
Tanzer gave this an 89. Wine Spector was stingy with 86 points. We would rate it at least 88, if not 89.
Last I checked, it was on sale at Metropolitan Market for just over $12.00!
It’s such a bargin, we just had to share it with you!
Update: Good news! The Husky’s owner has been found.
Just off of Beach Drive on Snoqualimie Street, a lost Husky is being cared for. If you’re missing this pet, please contact Suky.
Here is a list of resources (you can also find this link on the left side of BDB) if you have a found or missing pet.
Beach Drive Blog is always happy to reunite pets and their families. Thanks to Suky for the heads up.
I can’t think of a nicer way to spend a Saturday morning than to learn some history about a neighborhood park and an original West Seattle family. This morning a new sign was unveiled for Mee Kwa Mooks and a Emma and Ferninad Schmitz grandchild., Alan, was present to give first hand stories of life at the Schmitz home.
It’s hard to believe that this home was torn down. Just north of the park, if you look up the long driveway, the white house that is currently there replaced the Schmitz home pictured here.
Mee Kwa Mooks Park is expanisve. What a generous gift from the Emma and Ferninad Schmitz.
Update: Here are more photos from the event.
West Seattle Blog’s videos of the unveiling.
Update 10/16/2007: Read West Seattle Herald’s story about this event.
Actually…we just passed 300…we were having so much fun we didn’t even notice! Thanks for all the kind support and comments. This is great fun and I always welcome fellow neighbors either writing for the blog or sending your emails for ideas or stories to tell. Thank you!
