The other day, I joked on Twitter "What do you call three days of rain followed by a sunny Tuesday? Labor Day in Seattle". It's proving to be true. Yesterday concert go-ers lucked out with sunshine for most of the day–no luck seems to be in the forecast today:
From the City of Seattle Forecast:
TODAY…BREEZY. SHOWERS AND A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 50S TO MID 60S. SOUTH WIND 15 TO 25 MPH.
TONIGHT…SHOWERS LIKELY. LOWS AROUND 50. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 TO 20 MPH.
Puget Sound – Marine Forecast (since I'm posting weather):
…SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING…
TODAY…S WIND 10 TO 20 KT RISING TO 20 TO 30 KT THIS AFTERNOON. WIND WAVES 1 TO 3 FT BUILDING TO 3 TO 5 FT THIS AFTERNOON. SHOWERS AND A CHANCE OF TSTMS.
TONIGHT…SW WIND 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 2 TO 4 FT. SHOWERS.
The tides look like they're working in our favor of avoiding having to do a "barking dog report" warning of potential weather issues with a low tide of 2.4 at 12:32 this afternoon and a high tide of 11.2 at 6:44 pm.
West Seattle Blog suggests we check storm drains–good idea! This also may serve as a reminder to make sure you are prepared for Mother Nature when she's really feeling stormy.
Sounds like a good night to hunker down and maybe make some soup. What are your plans?
