Filming is taking place today at the Beach Drive home for Ira Finklestein's Christmas.
The street is lined with cars, movie crew vans and motorhomes across from Emma Schmitz Viewpoint.
Actor Elliott Gould may be on location for this shooting which is suppose to be a condo in Florida. He has the role of Ira's grandfather in the movie.
Update 11:45 am – just visited "the set". It's amazing to see whats transformed in our neighbors home. Pictured below is David DeLuise and Elliott Gould.
Elliott Gould shows Tazi, the home owners' dog, some love in between takes.
David DeLuise rehearsing lines on Jacobsen.
The home to the left is also being used for a place for the actors and crew to change wardrobe, eat and to hang out during breaks from filming.
Vans packed with gear and costumes line Beach Drive with motorhomes and cars.
Update 6:00 pm. The living room windows are blacked out and portions of the back yard were tarped for filming "evening scenes". DeLuise just left the set for the evening.

The filming of Ira Finklestein's Christmas will be wrapping up when the set visits a home located north of Jacobsen. In the movie, the home is actually being filmed as a Florida condo.
Neighbors have been sent notices and are asked not to park in the streets during filming (barricades in front of the home are out now).
The filming is estimated to take place on Friday, April 29, 2011 from 11:00am – 3:00pm.
Stay tuned!
Yikes – just noticed this from the National Weather Service. Forecast can and do change… I hope this one does!
THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE INTERIOR LOWLANDS OF
WESTERN WASHINGTON.

THE SNOW LEVEL WILL PLUMMET TO NEAR 500 FEET LATE TONIGHT BEHIND A VIGOROUS FRONT…RESULTING IN THE POTENTIAL FOR A DUSTING OR UP TO AN INCH OF SNOW IN PLACES ABOVE THE 500 FOOT LEVEL. THE SNOW SHOULD NOT STICK ON ANY OF THE ROADS AND IF IT DOES…IT SHOULD QUICKLY MELT.

THE STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS COULD PRODUCE UP TO DIME SIZE HAIL OR
LARGE QUANTITIES OF HAIL ON THE GROUND. ANTICIPATE GRADUALLY
IMPROVING CONDITIONS THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY AS THE AIR MASS
STABILIZES AND HIGHER PRESSURE MOVES OVER THE REGION.
HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL PREVAIL OVER THE AREA THIS WEEKEND FOR
DRIER AND WARMER WEATHER. ANOTHER LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL BRING UNSETTLED CONDITIONS TO THE REGION MONDAY AND TUESDAY

On my way to capture the photo of the mystery sign, I noticed that someone has been up to stacking rocks at Emma Schmitz again.
Wondering if any of our readers know what's up with this sign that's at the far north end (heading towards Alki) of Emma Schmitz/Mee Kwa Mooks park?
Update April 21, 2011: this tip was just provided by a Beach Drive neighbor via the West Seattle Herald:
Through a grant of $99,916 from the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, Feet First worked with nine neighborhood districts to support a kiosk and wayfinding project, holding community meetings to seek input.
If you have a hot tip, photos, story, suggestions...anything you wish to submit to the Beach Drive Blog, please email rhonda (at) mortgageporter (dot) com.
