Lost: “White Mop” Puppy (update: he’s found)

Update 12/14: the puppy has been reunited with it's humans…tails are a waggin'.

When we returned from Alki and the Christmas ships, this message was waiting:

"My husband is just in from the evening dog walk around Bar-S (with snow) and mentioned he ran into a guy looking for his lost puppy.  Unfortunately limited information: white puppy, looks like a mop, lost today but does have a tag, if you run into it (don't know male or female) the tag has contact info.

Sorry we don't have more info, but on a cold wintry night the guy was is looking all over."
If you have any additional information, please send an email to let us know so we can update the post.

Tom Fine sent an email last night stating:

Update:  Great news: the lost lab has been reuinted with his owner.

Sumi – Beach Drive Blog’s Pet of the Week

Sumi

Sumi  and her owner doesn’t live "on" Beach Drive, but has walked it for 2+years from our home near Bar-s.  So we’re in the neighborhood, and have many friends along Beach Drive from our walks.  Here’s a picture of Sumi, my Portuguese Water Dog, Ms. Congeniality!!!  She loves people, and is a major flirt.  She now recognises uniforms of Fed Ex, UPS, USPS and will zero in on them knowing that the odds of a treat are pretty good!

Beach Drive Blog Pets of the Week: Ivy and Lily

Cats_081

The residents of ‘The Cat House’, Ivy, on the left, and Lily on the right, keep their humans (John and Carol) busy by hiding their toys all over the house.  They especially like to hide them under the couch and watch dad moving it to look underneath.

Meet Cheeto — BDB’s Pet of the Week

Cheeto20wks2

Cheeto is a 5 month old Portuguese Water Dog. He has just finished puppy kindergarten and will show off his "sit", "lay down", and "shake hands" if you ask him. He loves to run in big loops on the beach and around the house, dig and bark, eat random things (socks, paper, shoes), and play with his people (Clyde and Susan).

Beach Drive Blog’s Pet of the Week: Maxwell

Max1

Max, who answers to many affectionate names, is doing one of his least favorite activities in this photo: posing in costume.

Max was adopted by us 3 years ago when he was 7 and I found him on the internet via PetFinder.Com – which is basically Match.Com for pets and prospective owners (I liked his profile). Max had been in the shelter twice and we can’t figure out why as he is such a wonderful cat.  We feel so fortunate that we found him and hope everyone considers adopting a pet from a shelter.

Max has 2 brothers – DoDo and Baba Ghanoush (“Baby”) and together they are called The Boyz….or sometimes The Men In Black..  There is always something going on and Maxwell is the leader of the pack.  Max is a big fan of James Bond movies and eating kibbles.  Like James, Max looks good in a tuxedo and prefers his martinis shaken…not stirred.   Below is a more dignified photo of Max for you to enjoy. Isn’t he handsome?

Check Out Ruby: Beach Drive Blog’s Pet of the Week

Orson and I bump into Ruby during our walks.  I can confirm that she is one big sweetheart.  But don’t take my word for it, here’s her photo and what her humans have to say about her.

Testruby_009

This is Ruby our Bulldog. She’s almost 6 years old but still acts like a puppy. She loves hide and go seek, swimming, obstacle courses (paints a picture doesn’t it) and chasing her rubber chicken . She is working to be a therapy dog and is a huge people lover.  You’ll see her walking with Gail or Jodie along the park many times a day.  Feel free to stop and pet her – she’s very friendly!!

Orson: Pet of the Week

Dsc_0203

He’s 12 years old, conveniently deaf or blind (when it suits him), skitzo, sweet and lovable…he’s mine.

Please don’t make me resort to more of my pets…I’d love to feature your Beach Drive pet as Pet of the Week…just send me their photo and bio.

Are You Missing Your Ferret?

I just received this email:

Not sure where to post this, but I just saw what I think was a ferret at about 5PM on the corner of 50th and Edmunds St.
It stopped and looked at me as I drove by, so I’m thinking it might have been domesticated.  I believe it was brown and white.
