Missing Black Lab

Pogo is a 12 year old black lab with a little bit of white on both front paws.  He’s on medication for seizures and needs to be back with his family who lives on Jacobsen.   Please contact them by email.

Wookie is Home!

A week and a half ago, BDB reported on a lost cat, Wookie.   I’m pleased to announce that Wookie has been reunited with his family.

Wookie disappeared Sunday Feb 11 after we had inadvertently left him out alone while we all went out for the day. He had a name tag with our phone number. After posting all the houses in the neighborhood the mail lady and all telephone poles we put an ad in the Times then on BDB. The animal shelters had no report on him dead or alive. Tuesday Feb 20 we left on vacation with heavy hearts. Monday morning Feb 26 we got a call from our next door neighbor about a skittish cat they could not get a good look at who had been living under their hot tub for a few days…. We returned as scheduled that night to find a very dirty smelly and skinny Wookie name tag still in tact.
We have been enjoying a very happy reunion as our dog and and children had become quite attached since we got Wookie Aug 9th as a birthday present.  Thanks for your help!

Help for Lost and Found Pets

Note:  Please email me as soon as possible and I’ll do a post on your lost or found Beach Drive Pet.   Including a photo is also helpful.   Beach Drive Blog has a pretty good success ratio on reuniting pets to homes.

Img_3942Last year, some neighbors and I found a lost dog.   He (or she) was obviously someone’s missing pet.  I made posters and had them on many telephone poles up and down Beach Drive.   Luckily, for our cats and one-eyed pug, a friend of the owner found us walking the dog the night before tucking it in that evening.

Here are a few helpful websites I found during this event where you can post lost or found pets:

Seattle Times

Craigs List

The Stranger

Seattle Animal Shelter

West Seattle Herald

Dog Detective

Please let me know if I’m missing any resources for our lost and found pets.  We all want our pets home…safe and sound.

Lost Cat

"Wookie" was last seen on Monday.   She does have a tag and is about one year old with long hair black and grey tabby markings.   She is really missed by her family.

If I receive a photo from the family or when Wookie is found, I will update this post.

The Official BHS Club

OrsonYou’ll have to ask John (Tootsy’s pet) what it means!  Every morning, afternoon and evening my old Pug takes me for a walk.  There is no walking him.  He pulls me where he wants to go and stops where he wants to stop.   That 20 pound body has amazing strength and determination.    During these walks, we say hello to the usual characters.

Gizmo, the toughy in the club, will give a ferocious bark to scare you off (hopefully before you see his cute self).   Oliver is very cordial.  And Tootsy is a spitfire.   And I cannot forget Rosie.  She just wants to say hello to everyone!  (I wish I had pictures of all of them…to show you).    Orson, my dog, is getting up in years and he either wants to say hello to all or would rather just pass on by and get to business.

This morning, we all just happened to meet at the same time and it’s always fun.   Catching up on the latest storm and whatever else might be going on in the neighborhood…of course, I told all of the dog’s pets about the Beach Drive Blog.    And…I let them know that we are looking for other contributors and authors to this blog….hint hint.
