Argosy Christmas Ships

Argosy2008The 2010 schedule is out for the Argosy Christmas Ships.  They will cruise to West Seattle on December 11, 2010 featuring The Dickens Carolers.   Departing Pier 55 at 8:00 p.m., they are scheduled to arrive at Lowman Beach from 8:50 – 9:10 p.m.    The ships will then head to Alki Beach from 9:40 – 10:00 p.m.

The Christmas Ship is sold out for December 11, 2010 however tickets are still available (at the writing of this post) for a Follow Boat, or you can join the flotilla with your own boat.   Of course you can also join neighbors and friends at Lowman and Alki where there's sure to be bon fires and holiday festivities or even enjoy the merriment from your home.

Here are some photos from a couple years ago.

Can you believe that Christmas is just two months away?   Happy Holidays!

Should We Expect Many Trick-or-Treaters?

I just received this comment from our Halloween post today:

We're new to Beach Drive (near Mee Kwa Mooks park) this year and were wondering if we should be expecting many trick-or-treaters this year.   Should we stock up on candy?

It would be great if fellow Beach Drive neighbors could chime in on their typical Trick-or-Treater turn-out.

My advice is to always buy candy you enjoy…just in case!

West Seattle’s Admiral Junction Kiddie Parade

We visited the Admiral Junction Kiddie Parade route along Sunset Avenue in West Seattle this morning and was amazed at the great participation.    DSC_0047

Behind with the Holiday Season

Thank goodness our tree lights were left up from last year (and they still work) or weDSC_0212 probably wouldn't have the yard looking very festive right now!   I'm feeling a bit guilty that I have not posted holiday photos of Beach Drive area homes this year.   It's not a deliberate decision that I've made–it's simply been a matter of time.   Being in the mortgage industry and keeping up with our family has had me pretty darn busy this year!

Beach Drive Blog would love to post photos of your home decked out in lights, pets adorned in their winter gear…do you have a favorite holiday recipe you'd like to share with neighbors?   Let's share this season together–simply email your photos or recipes to rhonda (at) rhondaporter (dot) com.

You’re Invited to Watch the Christmas Ships at the Log House Museum

A few days ago, we posted when Argosy Christmas Ships will be sailing along Beach Drive homes.   This in from the Southwest Seattle Historical Society:

Coming to see the Christmas Ship at Alki?  Stop at the Log House Museum first for cookies, cider and free museum tours.

The Log House Museum will be open Saturday, December 12th from 12:00 noon until 9:30 p.m.   Come see live Seattle history:  The Log House was built in 1904.  And don't forget the Log House Museum when considering a holiday gift.  Family or individual Memberships are a great gift that lasts all year!

The Log House Museum is located one block south of Alki at 3003 – 61st Avenue SW, Seattle.
