Friday's sunset and…
Saturday's sunset are compliments of Mother Nature.
All about the West Seattle neighborhood around Beach Drive
If you have a garage sale, send me an email (contact info above on the upper left corner), we're happy to promote neighborhood events here. This morning, I noticed one at 5410 Beach Drive SW starting at 10:00 a.m. today and Sunday. Looks like there's another up on Jacobsen too.
If you stop by, be sure to tell them you heard about their sale from Beach Drive Blog.
Typically I'll do a "Barking Dog Report" to alert neighbors of potential flooding during a storm. However this morning, we have to ask "ooh, what's that smell?"
We have shut all our windows with hopes that the tide coming in will hurry and wash away the stench of what must be hot, musty kelp and critters.
I was blaming it on my husband and the dog earlier…but even they can't take credit for this smell.
And now… some Skynyrd with "That Smell"
From Marcy Johnsen SWSHS Trustee:
Join the Southwest Seattle Historical Society as they tour White Center on Saturday, July 25, 2009 from 10:30 to noon. Meet at the parking lot corner of SW 17 and Roxbury. The cost is $5 for members and $7 for non-members or make a donation.
PS: When you're done with the tour, check out this butcher–it's a fabulous shop! Stop by and grab a tamale for lunch…you'll thank me later!
I'm not sure if this will become a regular series of posts here at Beach Drive Blog, butt we had to share this facinating toilet located in a home along Beach Drive.
Out of T.P.? No problems…the Toto Washlet 300 will cleanse and pamper with many features to choose from…and the heated seat is a warm welcome on a chilly Seattle day.
You have just a couple more weeks to register your Night Out block party with the
Seattle Police Department. The area of Beach Drive that we live in has enjoyed this chance to get together for the past couple of years with a fun pot luck. I'm look forward to this year's event!
I invite you to head over to the BDB Community Forums and let us know if your holding a block party and if you're a block watch captain–it would be great if Beach Drive was "connected" with who's doing block watches…we might even learn of areas that need help getting one started.
Being aware and knowing your neighbors is a great first step in preventing crime.
Two landing crafts have been spied by a scurvy dog passing Emma Schmitz park without a skirmish…arghh!!
We've been noticing some very gross looking water in Puget Sound…nothing I'd want to swim in! West Seattle Blog has a new article that is worth reading if you've been wondering "what's in the water". WSB talks to an expert at the state Ecology Department and get's the scoop.
If you have a hot tip, photos, story, suggestions...anything you wish to submit to the Beach Drive Blog, please email rhonda (at) mortgageporter (dot) com.
