Kite Boarding at Lowman Beach

Right now at Lowman Beach, the Puget Sound Kiteboarders are taking advantage of the gusty winds on Puget Sound.   I understand from one of the participants that this was originally going to take place at Richmond Beach, however the winds were better here.

Found Cat by LaRustica

Stray kitty
I live at about 4100 Beach Drive (Near La Rustica), and tonight at about midnight I found a darling little cat on my front porch. He/she is very loving and seems well cared for, but no collar. I went back inside, leaving the cat outside, thinking he/she would wander back home. But, no, the cat stayed on my porch looking through the window, and then settled onto one of my porch chairs. I'm hoping you can help me find the owner, since the cat is too well cared for to think it's been on the street for long.

Alas, I can't keep the cat for any length of time. I am allergic to cats, and I have an adopted rescue dog, who has only been in my home for a few months…so the darling cat won't work as a temporary or permanent addition.

Another Home Impacted by Crime on Beach Drive

We just received this email:

"I…saw the recent crime activity right around our houses on the Beach Drive Blog. Yesterday morning, I discovered that someone had dug up a metal light at the end of our driveway and placed it right behind my husband's car in our driveway. This took some effort to do, as the light was heavy and attached to electrical wiring. I wanted to let you know, as I think we should all try to be extra vigilant about crime in our area."

The Seattle Police non-emergency number to report a crime is 206-625-5011.   It's important to call events like this in.

Car Break-in on Beach Drive

Just learned that a printer (that no longer worked) was stolen from a car next door to where the lights were found this morning, on Beach Drive on the 4700 block.  Perhaps the theives started with the lights and thought the printer would be a better take…not knowing the printer was in the car to be disposed.

Are You Missing a Dog Bowl and Stainless Yard Lights?

Looks like someone ditched these items at 4717 Beach Drive in West Seattle.  They are sitting in the shrubry if they belong to you.

Barge at 4100 Beach Drive

Earlier this week, on Monday I believe, a barge parked for a while across from MeeKwaMooks before it moved to the 4100 section of Beach Drive.  Apparently it was working on the bulkhead by the condo's.   It was quite a sight.

Garden Cycles in MeeKwaMooks

Yesterday, while chatting with Suky, a Beach Drive neighbor, we noticed a bicyclist peddling through the grass at MeeKwaMooks towing a cart.  At the time, we weren't sure what he was up to.  Suky decided to investigate.

Garden Cycles Come to find out, the bicyclist is Steve Richmond of Garden Cycles who has a contract with Seattle's Urban Forestly program to remove invasive plants including Japanese knotweed (a.k.a. polygonum).

Thanks, Suky!
