Seattle Night Out is August 2, 2011
It's that time of year… time to start thinking about planning your neighborhood Seattle Night Out event. This year, Seattle Night Out takes place on Tuesday, August 2, 2011.
This is a great "excuse" for neighbors to get together. Knowing your neighbors is key to preventing crimes.
Past events I've attended on Beach Drive often include a casual pot luck and catching up with what's going on in our neighborhood.
If you're Beach Drive neighborhood is planning a night out event, please let me know. You can email or comment below. We also have a page on Facebook at www.fb.com/beachdriveblog

How Are You Celebrating our Over-Due Seattle Sunshine this Weekend?
It looks like we're finally going to have some nice spring weather…just in time for summer! From various forecasts, it looks like we're going to enjoy temps in the mid to upper 70s.
For added warm weather fun, we have some low tides too! Today's low tide is a -2.38 at 1:15 p.m. and will be up to 11.78 at 8:44 tonight. On Sunday, the low tide is a -1.99 at 1:58 in the afternoon followed by 11.87 at 9:22 p.m.
So how are you going to celebrate this warm weather goodness?
Just Cruising by: The Rochade
The Rochade flies the Caman Island flag and is a creation from Delta Marine that's out for a test drive in Puget Sound.
Here's a little more we found:
She can sleep up to twelve guests in five cabins and up to ten crew members in five crew cabins. Rochade is classed to Lloyd's Register and compliant to the MCA.
On the technical side, Rochade uses twin MTU V16 4000 diesel engines. 22 knots is the expected top speed with a cruising speed of 18 knots. At 12 knots, a healthy range of 2,700 nautical miles is expected, drawing from 53,000 LT tanks. This new Delta is up for sale through a reputable broker.
Delta Marine is the builder of the yacht Laurel, which we wrote about a few years ago when she too was off the shores of West Seattle.
