This photo of Lowman Beach Park was taken on December 1, 2007 during our first snow.

Double Rainbow over Puget Sound

Yesterday’s Barking Dog report is now a whimper.  Yes we had mud slides and it rained and rained and rained some more…the big winds and waves did not materialize (thankfully).   However today, even though the reports are more tame, seems like it could be a reason to howl a potential warning or watch.    Today’s high tide is an 11.2 at 12:47 this afternoon.

I’ll just try to relax and enjoy the double rainbow I just spotted over the Puget Sound.

Also home to the Alki Light House which was first lit in 1913.   Touring the light house is on my "to do" list.   Have you toured the Alki Light House?

Beach Drive closed at Jacobsen

Road closed due to the mud slide down on 6000 block of Beach Drive.

A Good Reason for Pet Tags: Gretta

On our way to check out the mudslide, we saw this dog who seemed a bit lost (and very wet).   Thankfully, Gretta had a name tag on with phone numbers and her address so we were able to return her where she belongs.    Her humans were glad to know she was out and made arrangements to for someone to meet her and get her inside her home.

Mudslide on Beach Drive

West Seattle Blog reports there’s a mudslide around the 6000 block of Beach Drive.  I’m on my way out now to check it out.  Photos to follow soon.

Update:  Here are some photos of the mudslide…not too far from where we mentioned earlier.

Street closed at Alaska/Fauntleroy and Gee/Huling Motors

Not Beach Drive, I know, but my husband just called me to me to say the road is blocked Img121 off with police and flares everywhere in front of "Gee/Huling" at Alaska and Fauntleroy. I’ll contact WSB to see if they know what’s going on.

Photo compliments of my husband and stepdaughter.
