We've been noticing some very gross looking water in Puget Sound…nothing I'd want to swim in!   West Seattle Blog has a new article that is worth reading if  you've been wondering "what's in the water".  WSB talks to an expert at the state Ecology Department and get's the scoop.

Summer brings Low Tides

Today's low tide was -3.9 and tomorrow at 11:49 the tides will the lowest of the week at -4.1.

There is the season… Tern Tern Tern.

A true sign of summer is when the Terns appear to fish to Puget Sound.

Low Tide

Today's low tide was -2.6 at 12:26pm.  Monday will be even lower at -3.0 at 1:10pm.

Seen on the Sound this Morning

The USCGC Mellon is the first and only USCG cutter to be fitted with the Harpoon missile.  She also once had an anti-submarine warfare suite including torpedos which have been since removed.

Sun Bathing Seal

One of our neighbors  (aka Cat Woman) spied this seal pearched on a piling last night.DSC_0144 

I think he's getting ready for the sunny weather we're suppose to have this weekend.    Weather.com is reporting mid 50's for today and mid 60's for tomorrow.

Morning Moon Mashes Manchester

This morning a giant golden moon landed on the community of Manchester in Kitsap County.  Nobody was injured–just a lot of ooohs and ahhhhs.

They’re Ba-a-a-c-k! The Black Brants

A sure sign that Spring is on the way is when the Brants migrate to the Puget Sound.
