Missing something??

This is the time of year when we see detached mooring buoys take a cruise along the shores of Beach Drive. The combo of newly grown kelp, sea-critters and extreme Spring tides will test for any weak links in a mooring system.

Anyone want to claim this one? Found off our place on Thursday's extreme low tide…

Before adding the tug of your boat to your float, might be a good idea to examine the shape of your gear. I was a bit nervous putting my 17 foot fishing boat out in early May for the Spot Shrimp season so employed Alpha Marine Installations to dive down and take a look. They've installed several systems along the "Drive" and will periodically offer to do a complete inspection and cleaning for $200. Pretty cheap insurance considering the alternative!

Is that another loose ball I see floating down the drive? This one's just off the south end of Emma Schmitz park.

LOST CAT: Have you seen Jasper?

Jasper

Our male cat Jasper got out of the house, he has never been outside.  He is all black with yellow eyes, he has no collar but is microchiped.

(206) 932-1560, please call or if you can catch him even better.  We have been looking incessantly but so far to no avail.  REWARD.

Did Your Dock take a Walk?

If you have a small floating dock, you may want to double check to make sure it's anchored where it's supposed to be.

This dock appears to be heading north (currently it is just south of Emma Schmitz Memorial View Point).

LOST DOG: Have You Seen Duncan the Border Collie

HAPPY UPDATE 1/2/12:  Duncan was safely reunited with his humans yesterday.

Duncan disappeared last night, New Years Eve, while we are out.  He disappeared from 54th Ave SW, Seattle, WA  98116.  We are directly above the Mee Kwa Mooks park and greenbelt.  We a guessing he was frightened by the fireworks.  He is a black and white, Border Collie, 6 years old, approximately 50 lbs.  He is mostly black with white on his neck, chest, legs and nose.  He should be wearing his red/black collar with his city tags and he does have a microchip.

He is friendly with people, and should come with treats, or better yet a ball or pinecone! He is not too fond of cars and will reluctantly get in.

LOST: Missing “Seal” Float

This just in from one of our readers:

The 5900 Block of Beach Drive had a "seal" float used by seals and birds as a resting and eating place.  The float is 4' wide by 10' long and has "ADM C" on the side (white letters on a red background) and a phone number.

Last night it broke loose from its anchor chain.  I searched the beach down to the light house with no luck. If anyone finds it on the beach, please let us know so we can secure it.

If you see the float, please either comment on this post or send us an email. We'll pass the info onto the owners.
