When I first spied this ship through the rain and grey, it almost appeared to be an extension of the land!   I can barely make out the number 10…does anyone know which ship this is?

Have you see this adorable tuxedo cat?   She has been missing from the Alki area and has been spotted by 59th and Alki.

She is missing the tip of her right ear.  She has a tiny amount of white on her front paws and white boots on her back paws.   She just moved her and does not know the neighborhood.

Please contact 206-499-9414 if you see her.

Note: the cat in front of her is NOT missing.

Late Night Low Tide

On the beach in front of Emma Schmitz/Mee Kwa Mooks during a late night low tide.  I'm not sure of "who" is out there, but it sounds like they're having fun enjoying the full moon.

Picture 012

Tonight's low tide was a -2.41 at 10:32 p.m. with a high tide of 12.49 following at 5:52 tomorrow morning.  Tonight was the lowest tide so far for 2011.

Watching the moon cresend behind the Olympics was breathtaking this morning.

The Blustery Winds today will be Howling for the Seahawks

Just checking out the various forecasts for our area and hoping that a "tweet" from West Seattle Blog this morning regarding power flickering is just a fluke…or there's going to be some unhappy Seattle-ites with the Seahawks game starting in just a couple hours.

First Snow and Now a Flood Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisorydue to the rain (100% chance of precipitation) on top of last nights snowfall until 11:30 a.m.

2011-01-12_07-38-25_668

"The rain will continue this morning and runoff will be hampered by snow still on the ground.  Areas of standing water can be expected this morning until the recent snow can melt and runoff…

Melting from recent snow along with the ongoing rain will cause ponding of water in urban areas..highways..streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage areas and low lying spots.

Do not drive  your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway.  The water depth maybe too great to allow your car to cross safely.  Move to higher ground…"

If you have drains in front of your home that are clogged with leaves, it may be a good idea to remove them to help assist the runoff on Beach Drive.

Here's the forecast for Seattle:

TODAY…RAIN OR SNOW EARLY…POSSIBLY MIXED WITH FREEZING RAIN…CHANGING TO SHOWERS. ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS UP TO ONE INCH POSSIBLE. HIGHS IN THE MID 40S TO LOWER 50S. SOUTHWEST WIND 10 TO 20 MPH.

The Puget Sound Marine Forecast:

…SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING…

TODAY…SW WIND 20 TO 30 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 5 FT. RAIN AND CHANCE OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN EARLY…THEN SHOWERS.

TONIGHT…S WIND 15 TO 25 KT EASING TO 10 TO 15 KT LATE IN THE EVENING…THEN BECOMING SE 15 TO 25 KT LATE. WIND WAVES 2 TO 4 FT. SHOWERS IN THE EVENING…THEN RAIN AFTER MIDNIGHT.

This morning's high tide is an 11.4 at 9:54 a.m.
