Well it looks like the off-again/on-again feeder for the goats off Jacobsen Street is officially gone. We have not had chance to chat with owners to learn why the feeder is down. They do have a sign that welcomes all to feed the lovely goats their favorite snack, corn chips, and to keep visiting Bama, JJ and Deli. The bell is gone too…my hunch is that one of the neighbors wasn’t too happy with it. However, if you call the goats names and give a few hearty “ba-a-a-a-ah”s, they will make their way up the hill to visit you and enjoy any snacks you have to offer.
Instead of throwing our old chips, crackers or tortillas into the yard waste, we’re keeping them for our neighborhood goats.
Aren’t they cute!
Da Fuh? Man, sounds like there are some killjoys in the neighborhood who really need to mind their own business. I enjoyed feeding the goats, and I fail to see what the problem was; I rarely saw other people there feeding them, it wasn’t like it was an ‘attractive nuisance’.
We love feeding them too. I’m not sure if that’s why the feeder is gone – it’s just my suspicion. We’ll be sure to update this post if we learn more.
I talked with George (the goat owner) yesterday and apparently the neighbor with the issue has complained to the city that he has created a petting zoo, which is not code. The neighbor is really reaching (IMO) since their first attempt with the city did not work. It’s unfortunate.
