Sunday Morning Storm Update

Well the first high tide took place a couple hours ago. We’re now bracing for the next high tide which is a 10.94  at  7:12 pm tonight.

The Puget Sound Marine Forecast was updated 9:00 am this morning:

 GALE WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING

 TODAY
 S WIND 20 TO 30 KT RISING TO SW WIND 25 TO 35 KT BY
 AFTERNOON. WIND WAVES BUILDING TO 4 TO 6 FT. RAIN.

 TONIGHT
 SW WIND 25 TO 35 KT EASING TO 20 TO 30 KT DURING THE
 EVENING. WIND WAVES 3 TO 6 FT...HIGHEST EARLY IN THE EVENING.
 SHOWERS.

And the Special Weather Statement has been updated as well:
...BLUSTERY AND RAINY FOR THE FIRST DAY OF FALL...

A FRONT WILL BRING GUSTY WINDS AND RAIN TO WESTERN WASHINGTON
TODAY. SOUTHERLY WINDS AROUND 20 MPH WILL DEVELOP WITH GUSTS OF 35
TO 45 MPH. THIS FIRST VIGOROUS FRONT OF THE SEASON MAY PRUNE SOME
TREE LIMBS…GIVING LOCAL POWER OUTAGES. ON THE COAST AND IN THE
MOUNTAINS AN INCH OR TWO OF RAIN WILL FALL. THE REST OF WESTERN
WASHINGTON WILL GET ABOUT HALF AN INCH OF RAIN….

We are preparing for a possible flood tonight… of course we hope we are only
erring on the side of caution… but you really cannot be too prepared for when
green water comes sloshing over the bulkhead.
