We have a pair of Barn Swallows nesting in the neighborhood. I find them ammusing. One of the pair (I’m assuming female) chirps orders constantly at the other, who is busy trying to appease her with twigs for the home and grub for dinner. These little fellas aggressive defend their nest chasing away other birds. I could sit and watch them all day!
We have two house finches nesting in a hanging plant on our porch. At last look there were four eggs, but I can’t really tell if they’ve hatched because I hate to startle the birds on the nest. It’s been hard to water the plant, however, which they need for camouflage. I’ve been using the mist attachment on the hose.
