Beach Drive Decked Out
Mud Slide at 6200 Beach Drive
Beach Drive is closed to all traffic around the 6200 block. This is the same area that has experienced mud slides before (below Atlas). Here's our post from the mudslide in this area back in December 2007.
As we were taking these photos, you could hear snapping and popping of trees.
Update 6:20 pm: Beach Drive is now closed at Jacobson heading south towards the slide.
Argossy Christmas Ships Sail Tonight
Don't forget that the Christmas Ships will pass along Beach Drive from Alki Point to Lowman Beach Park and back to Alki tonight. Cheers!
Tis the Season
Friday’s Beautiful Sunset is Dedicated to my Dad
I'm sorry I haven't been posting much lately. My Dad passed away on Friday afternoon. My sisters and I were on our deck watching the sunset when a dozen red roses tied in a gold bow appeared.
The moment after the sun set, the phone rang and it was a nurse telling us that our Dad had peacefully passed away. Dad was 64 and had been battling various health issues including progressive lymphoma (skin cancer).
Rest in Peace, Dad.
I love this time of year and posting photos of homes that are decorated to celebrate the season, friends and family. Please email me photos of Beach Drive neighborhood homes decked out for the holidays and I will get them posted.
Car Vandalism on Beach Drive Last Night
Just south of Jacobson, last night someone ripped off the wheels from a Honda Fit.
It's amazing that crime can take place steps away from our homes while we sleep with no one seeing or hearing a thing.
It's important to report all crimes, including non-emergency, to the Seattle Police Department at (206) 625-5011.
If a crime happens in our neighborhood it's also important to share it with your Block Watch Captain and please consider forwarding it to Beach Drive Blog so we can all be aware and alert of crime trends in our neighborhood.
