Can you hear me now on Beach Drive??

If you you were wondering why someone was holding a pole along Beach Drive in 90+ heat…

I’m thinking she drew the short straw while her co-worker is driving all air-conditioned around the Beach Drive vicinity taking reception readings for Verizon Cellular.

Poor cell reception comes up pretty often in conversatio…tion… arou…nd here. Good to see Verizon taking action!

We just moved Beach Drive Blog to WordPress. I am still in the process of fine tuning the site with our new move.  If you see anything wonky – please let us know!

Come Join Beach Drive Blog’s On-Line Community

I just finished creating an on-line social networking site just for the Beach Drive community.   It's similar to Facebook except the site is private (currently) and is for a specific network.

This is not replacing Beach Drive Blog–I'm hoping it will be a complement to our blog.   It does require your email address and for you to create your own password.  Members need to live in the Beach Drive community.

Some of the features include:

  • Forums
  • Calendar of events
  • Photos

  • and so much more!

You can post upcoming garage sales, we can have a topic on safety and plan for the next "Seattle Night Out" for our community.   If you're a Beach Drive neighbor, I invite you to check it out by clicking here.

Technology in the Hood

Recently, Zillow launched their Home Q&A  where anyone can submit a photo of their home, comment or ask a question about a home whether it’s listed for sale or not.   Real estate industry professionals can also have a profile on Zillow’s site.

Homes that have recently sold, are currently listed or that have a "make me move" price by the seller are flagged on their maps.   Here’s a link to the photo below.

Just yesterday, went "live".   This is still very new and I found the site freezing up on me constantly.   Created by a group of CNET veterans, this site features a feed of photos from Flickr, a social set up for neighborhoods, maps, etc.

Congrats West Seattle Blog
